Getting started
The four onboarding steps, and what you need before you begin.
Onboarding is four steps. You can move back and forth freely — nothing is locked.
Before you start
- Your restaurant's name and address.
- Your opening hours.
- Either a phone number provided by Happy Voice, or your own Twilio account (Account SID, Auth Token, and the number you want to use).
Profile
Your restaurant's name and location. Both are required.
The name is what the agent says when it answers, so write it the way you want it spoken.
Hours
Your opening and closing time. These decide whether a caller reaches order mode or inquiry mode, so they matter more than they look.
Four presets are available if one fits:
| Preset | Hours |
|---|---|
| All Day | 09:00 – 22:00 |
| Lunch & Dinner | 11:00 – 23:00 |
| Dinner Only | 17:00 – 23:00 |
| 24 Hours | always open |
Overnight windows work — a close time earlier than the open time is treated as running past midnight.
Phone number
Two options:
Use a platform number. Happy Voice provisions a number for you once your plan is active. Nothing else to do.
Bring your own Twilio account. Supply your Account SID, Auth Token and phone number. All three are required, and the credentials are tested against Twilio before they're saved.
If you're picking a new number, you can either choose from numbers already in your Twilio account or browse and buy an available one.
Number search covers the United States and Canada only.
Plan
Choose monthly or yearly billing and subscribe. You can also skip this and explore the dashboard first — but the agent will not answer calls until a plan is active.
After onboarding
Connect your POS so the agent knows what you sell — see Clover. Until then it can answer calls but has no menu to work from.
